JOB SUMMARY

The Business Analyst is a functional role aimed at developing ad-hoc and recurring business reports, works cross-functionally with various business owners to determine and meet their reporting and analytics needs, and ensures timely, high-quality reporting and analytics. The ideal candidate for this position can extract, summarize, and tell a story with data.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Mine, analyze and interpret data from multiple sources.

  • Work with business owners to identify information needs and develop reporting; primary partners include the analytics team, management team, sales, finance & accounting, marketing, merchandising and operations.

  • Assists in the design and development of analytical projects designed to understand key business behaviors that drive customer acquisition, retention, and engagement.

  • Supports the development of forecasts, statistical models, segmentation schemes, and data-driven analyses which drive marketing and merchandising efforts around customer acquisition and conversion.

  • Discover new opportunities to optimize the business through analytics and statistical modeling.

  • Partner with the Technology teams to deliver a stable and highly available reporting platform.

  • Maintain reporting and analytical tools.

QUALIFICATIONSEducation

  • Business Insights/Intelligence or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years Business Analytics and/or reporting experience.

  • Proven background in performing data mining, analysis, and reporting desirable.

  • PeopleSoft experience preferred.

Professional Skills

  • Proficient knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs with an emphasis on Excel and Access. PeopleSoft knowledge preferred.

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and professional interactive skills are necessary to perform at a high degree of proficiency. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from suppliers, customers, management, and inter-department staff. Capable of working with internal staff from other departments in a proactive and constructive manner.

  • Problem Solving – Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Takes analytical, creative, and innovative approaches to solving problems.

  • Planning / Organization – Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities/deadlines and shift priorities as necessary.
