We are now seeking to appoint a full-time Tumu Whakarae- General Manager to lead and manage the Trust as it continues to play a vital role within our community. As a high performing senior leader with proven strategic and operational abilities, you will have well established and mutually rewarding relationships within Māoridom and have relevant insights into the complexities of operating within the social and education sector. You will be comfortable and confident within te ao Māori and understand the connections between cultural and regulatory environments.
The role of the General Manager will be to deliver strategic leadership and direction, working in partnership with the Board, and responsibility for overall organisational success. Demonstrating superior operating skills; financial acumen; and the ability to manage risk; the General Manager will have the means to formulate a plan of action and execute it swiftly and decisively. Setting a clear strategic intent, you have the personal mana to take people on your journey, bringing differing viewpoints and strongly held beliefs and agendas together. Presenting persuasive arguments and maintaining poise under questioning, you will be clear on your objectives and how to influence others to achieve desired outcomes with empathy and understanding. Key to your success will be your ability to gain trust and maintain beneficial relationships to promote and advance the aims of the organisation.
Your solid comprehension of how an organisation creates and sustains its financial resources, what drives profitability and a market-focused approach to business, coupled with a long-term view of what is important to the people of Ngāti Whakaue will be highly valued.
