Talent International Hiring for Java Developer Job at Australia, Australia Full Time

Our client a tier 1 organisation located in Melbourne CBD is looking for a Senior Java Developer for a 6 month contract with a likelihood for extensions. There has been significant growth and investment into the team to support 3 applications initially you will be assigned one with the view to getting familiar to all applications the work mainly comprises of regulatory and compliance and BAU production support for the first 6 months but has a roadmap of improvements to move to the cloud shortly.

Please note: This opportunity is paying very well and has bonuses like extreme flexible working arrangements, a roadmap moving applications to the cloud, and to top it all off likely rolling extensions. Please apply quickly as this role will likely be filled quickly.

Technical Skills;

• Java, Spring boot, Struts, Tomcat, Javascript, Python
• Source control, container, orchestration such as Git, Docker, Rancher,
• Testing tools like Selenium
• Continuous delivery using Jenkins & pipeline plugin or similar
• Microservices, a RESTful approach using JSON, SOAP, AWS Lambda, message queues and modern design patterns
• Rapid prototyping & service stubbing
• Linux distro based development

Experience, Skills & Qualifications;

• Financial services or insurance industry experience strongly preferred
• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or related IT discipline
• Minimum 5 years development experience with 3+ years building enterprise scale Java solutions preferred
• Experience in helping build team capability, establishing & influencing processes/practices and working well in a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills
• Continuous improvement mindset
• Experience working in agile, lean, devOps & cross functional teams
• Expertise in use of JIRA and Confluence
