About the business and the role

Our client is the leader in the Portable Display industry and provides display solutions to the New Zealand market.

Their busy Display Management department is looking for a friendly, hardworking and focused Warehouse and Logistics Manager to join the team.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Warehouse & logistics

• Plan workload taking into account customer bookings and deliveries
• Work with other team members and customers to deliver exceptional service
• Ensure bookings are correctly packed and sent on a just-in-time basis
• Ensure bookings are returned, cleaned and stored correctly
• Ensure damaged items are repaired and missing items followed-up on
• Ensure the warehouse is appropriately organised and kept clean and tidy at all times
• Lead annual audits and stocktake
• Delegate responsibilities to team members as appropriate 
• Provide recommendations and undertake process improvements

Property, vehicles & supplier management

• Build relationships with couriers, delivery companies and property suppliers and ensure agreements are in place where appropriate
• Coordinate property maintenance as required
• Ensure all equipment and pool vehicles are appropriately licensed and maintained

Health & safety

• Overall responsibility for ensuring onsite H&S practices are followed

Team

• Participate in the flow to work model by assisting production and events teams as priorities dictate
• Ensure the onsite team operate in a sustainable manner at all times
• Ensure the onsite team adhere to our values and behaviours
• Develop the team, providing feedback and coaching
• Prioritise the wellbeing of the team at all times

Other

• Act as an escalation point and solve issues as required
• Reporting

The ideal candidate will have

• Previous leadership experience within warehousing and logistics
• A strong team leader and confident in taking ownership of your role
• Someone who is big on collaboration and can proactively engage with people to influence positive outcomes.
• Good knowledge of WMS and Microsoft Office would be highly desirable.
• Strong time management and attention to detail
• Have a positive and can-do attitude with a great work ethic
• Be a team player
• Have a high attention to detail
• Be task oriented
• Hands on practical skills
• Be presentable
• Be physically fit
• Problem solver

Standard weekday hours (8.30am – 5.00pm) are offered, full driver’s license is required.
