Key responsibilities include:
- Lead end to end product development through build, release, maintenance and enhancement of product features
- Deliver high quality products which are thoroughly tested and optimised
- Coach and mentor a team of Engineers
- Collaborate with product managers, designers and other key stakeholders, making decisions together to deliver valuable working software for customers.
About the Team:
Our client uses XP practices (including TDD, pair programming and CI/CD) to design and build fast stable software and get it into our customers’ hands quickly. They are committed to iterative delivery using the build, measure, learn paradigm. They pride themselves on being responsive to customers’ needs, consistently delivering value to the people of NSW.
They take a cloud-native approach building most services in the cloud and hosted in container orchestration platforms. The majority of their digital services are bespoke applications, leveraging shared services to ensure cost effectiveness and scalability.
About You:
- Expertise. You have a strong software engineering background, including experience in full stack web development with exposure to a broad range of technologies. You have experience in Extreme Programming (XP), including Test Driven Development and Pair Programming, and willing to spread the values, principles and practices underpinning this approach.
- Excellent understanding of systems thinking and technical design. You can design and implement system interactions to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Attention to detail. You strive for the best quality code; adopting practices/style guides that encourage clean and readable code.
- Leadership. You have coached and mentored engineering teams to become their best selves, and/or managed a few big projects into production and beyond
- Proficient in one or more modern programming languages. Full stack being proficient in one or more modern programming languages. You are fluent in Kotlin or Java (Springboot), JavaScript/TypeScript (ReactJS, AngularJS) or Golang)
- Security-minded. You have a passion for security by design, and exposure to or interest in security engineering as concept.
