The pay rate starts between $11.00 to $13.00 per hour depending on experience.

Driver for Transportation Job Description
The collective duties of the crew-members staffing non-emergency medical transportation vehicles shall include, but are not limited to:

Drivers are responsible for assuring that all required and necessary equipment and supplies are on board the vehicle and in working order prior to departure;
Drivers should always be operating the vehicle in a safe manner, starting and stopping the vehicle slowly and smoothly and complying with all applicable motor vehicle laws, rules, and/or regulations;
The driver should ensure they are providing the patient/client with prompt, effective, and appropriate care; able to perform CPR or first Aide if necessary (Must be certified)
Drivers will be assisting the patient/client to enter into and/or exit from the vehicle;
The driver will be supervising the well-being of the patient/client and ensuring the patient/client’s privacy and comfort;
The driver is responsible for ensuring that all vehicle occupants (patients/clients, passengers, and crew-members/Driver) are properly restrained.
The driver is responsible for assuring that all wheelchairs are properly restrained in the required restraints and that all wheelchair patients/clients are restrained in the wheelchair. Wheelchair patient/clients are to be restrained with a seat belt and other secure straps until the patient/client is transferred from the wheelchair at the patient/client’s destination;
Drivers should prohibit smoking within the vehicle at all times, and using the designated smoking areas

Qualifications

Applicant must possess a valid drivers license with F endorsement
be able to pass pre-employment training
pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
1-year NEMT driving experience preferred
High school diploma preferred
Must be able to read and write English

Please note that this position will require a background check, motor vehicle record, Drug screening, and F endorsement

Also, sometimes this job will require long hours of driving (8-12 hours per shift)

The pay for this position is from 9-12, with yearly increases, yearly bonuses, overtime pay, and with guaranteed forty hours per week at least

Lastly, please note that the background check has to have NO felony and the motor vehicle record should have no more than one accident that you are at fault, this is very important so that we all on the same page.
