We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for an individual with exceptional people and problem-solving skills to join our Facilities team as the Facilities Operations & Contracts Officer.
This role oversees the operation, maintenance, improvement and management of Council facilities including buildings, parks, reserves, playgrounds, public conveniences, campgrounds, swimming pools. The role includes the supervision of Council contractors and provision of quality and timely services and advice to internal and external customers.
The ideal candidate might come from a background in maintenance management and managing maintenance contracts, ideally for parks and reserves and/or buildings. A minimum of two years’ experience in facilities management, contract management and/or maintenance management would be preferred. Awareness of local government and relevant legislation (e.g. Building Act 2004, Reserves Act 1977, Health & Safety at Work Act 2015 and Local Government Act) is also desirable.
This role will require you to travel around the district using Council vehicles, so a valid New Zealand driver’s license is essential.
