Task Force Tips, LLC* a worldwide leader in firefighting equipment manufacturing, is seeking a full-time, Tester to test our fire suppression equipment. Shift entails working 4:00PM-12:00 AM. Working in a manufacturing setting along with experience is highly preferred. Desirable candidates must be detailed oriented.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must have the ability to physically stand for long periods of time, lift/carry/push objects weighing 50 pounds, crouch/kneel, bend, reach, and be able to handle/grasp objects. Requires use of hand tools. Pay rate is $15.00 an hour.

Job Responsibilities Include:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: *

• Maintains communication with Engineering Department, Assembly Supervisor and Service Manager in identifying and resolving product performance problems and product testing procedures.
• Visually inspects product prior to testing to ensure compliance with quality standards and special handling requests are met.
• Performs final testing of pressures and flows of nozzles to ensure compliance with company and NFPA standards, and maintains detailed records on computer, such as number and nature of test failures of various models.

• Maintains nozzle testing area, including draining, recalibrating gages, fixing and rebuilding valves, checking pump, motors, and switches for safe, proper operation

• Maintains current knowledge of products/parts revisions by working closely with Service Manager and Engineering Department. Including revising test instructions and presets as needed.

• Maintains clean, safe work areas, including nozzle testing and product demonstration equipment areas.

• Periodically assists Sales Department personnel by responding to inquiries regarding product service and performance, including preparing and demonstrating products outdoors using portable fire pump and hydrant.
• Performs weekly calibrations to ensure flow meter confirmations are accurate prior to performing product testing.
• Performs preventative maintenance as needed following standard required compliant operations.
• Occasionally will assist in assembly, assembling subassemblies and finished goods and using loctite, grease, epoxy etc. as specified per assigned work instructions. Also using assembly tooling designed for the assigned cells. For example, presses, drill machines, testing fixtures, assembly fixtures etc. Periodically builds product models for new/redesigned products. Wet tests finished products to ensure proper operation and absence of leakage per testing instructions. Tags product and records testing results. Programs and tests electronics per testing instructions. Reworks failed products as necessary.

• Trains, assists and helps oversee work of new employees as needed.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Training, education and/or experience in mechanics, machine shop, hydraulics or related area preferred.

Working knowledge of and ability to make practical application of OSHA and company safety precautions and procedures.

Ability to operate a computer and applicable software.

Ability to physically and safely assemble parts and products and operate hand tools, including strap wrench, screw drivers, drill, Allen wrenches, hammer, air nozzle and ball blower.

Ability to count and make simple arithmetic additions and subtractions and use practical shop mathematics.

Ability to identify and verify thread code and mating test adapter

Ability to work alone and with others in a team environment with minimum supervision, work rapidly for long periods and work on several tasks at the same time, often under time pressure.

Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions, observe and read instruments, gauges and dials, and use technical manuals.

Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with other company personnel, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities and disabilities.

Ability to occasionally work extended hours.
