Job Description

The Tax Associate is responsible for providing administrative and tax compliance support to the Tax Accountant. Prepares data entry for personal property tax returns, business license returns, simple premium and corporate Federal and State income tax returns and estimated tax filings to ensure compliance with Internal Revenue Service regulations. Tax associates may interview clients regarding income and expenses, and review income statements, expenditure documentation and other financial records to ensure all documents are recieved and communicated to the Tax Accountant prior to their appointment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain client support documentation ensuring both electronic and hard copies are recieved and stored in system
• Conduct client follow up and coordinate with receptionist on any missing documentation
• Inventory tax documents in secure client repository
• Coordinates client tax activities daily with receptionist
• Handles sensitive and confidential information.
• Maintains tax calendar and monitors due dates to assure set deadlines are met.
• Assisting with tax notices and communicating to clients on next steps

Requirements

• Requires an Associates degree in Accounting;
• Or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office and Drake Software A Plus
• Attention to Detail with accurate data entry
• 3-5 years experience with tax or accounting work preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $17.00 – $19.00 per hour
