We are seeking an exceptional leader to head our Toi Tangata (People & Culture) team for Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu Group.

Reporting directly to the CEO of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu, the Group Head – Toi Tangata is a part of Tuhiraki (Senior Executive Leadership Team). The successful candidate will bring a business understanding and perspective to work in partnership with senior managers on strategic organisational development, change leadership and people management and will contribute to the overall leadership of the Te Rūnanga Group as an active and contributing member of the senior leadership team.
Leading the centralised People & Culture function, the Group Head Toi Tangata will support Te Rūnanga Group’s strategic direction in all aspects of human resource management, organisational development, learning & development, payroll as well as broader oversight over iwi capability, safety and wellbeing and attraction activities. The key responsibilities are building and enhancing the credibility of the Toi Tangata team to ensure high quality and consistent advice and practices. The portfolio of Toi Tangata embraces both the Office of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu as well as Ngāi Tahu Holdings with a headcount of approximately 600 kaimahi across a diverse business portfolio including tourism, seafood, forestry, farming, property, honey, and investments. Toi Tangata partner with our business leaders to ensure that our kaimahi are focused on delivering optimum results to benefit Ngāi Tahu whānui as a whole.
