This role is to provide nursing support across the team and is well supported by senior management, with an expectation of being available to provide input and advice to other areas from time to time as well as afterhours support. We are a great team to work with – stable, passionate and genuinely keen to develop new skills and knowledge to provide excellent care.
The clinical nurse specialist will role model specialist mental health nursing care based on substantial theoretical knowledge in a mental health setting and work with nursing staff to continually develop practice. You will also be involved in maintaining the ongoing development of the teams clinical skills
The successful applicant will be Level Four (expert) (or working towards) on the Southern District Health Board Professional Development Programme. In addition to your nursing qualifications you will also have post graduate qualifications (relevant to mental health), at a minimum a diploma, but preferably a Master Degree (or working towards).
We are looking for a positive and confident registered nurse who has the drive and enthusiasm to motivate staff and engage them in their clinical development; you will be a respected professional in your own right, and an exceptional team member with strong communication skills.
You will have support and networking with other Clinical Nurse Specialists working within Mental Health, Addictions and Intellectual Disability Services across Southern District Health Board.
