Come help on a greenfield transformation of the way we currently manage Prisoner Trust Accounts for offenders across our prison network.  Alongside some broader business change the programme will be deploying technology to reduce the manual complexity/effort and to strengthen the financial control around the management of these accounts.   The technology elements of the change are managed by the Department’s Digital Team where this role will be based.

Who are we looking for?

• Solution Architect with at least 7 years’ experience
• Strong/good experience working in development of high and detailed level solutioning/analysis artefacts,eg. System Use Cases,Use Case Models,System Context diagrams etc etc. 
• Generally strong experience at end-to-end system development – definition through design and implementation
• Good experience working in change programmes (if possible)
• Some agile experience may be helpful (though not critical) for next phase of project and potential for a contract extension

What are we moving from and what stage is the project at?

• Programme seed funding approved via Indicative Business Case
• Some initial current state reviews have been undertaken
• Initial desk-based market scan completed
• Update of the Trust Accounts Manual to baseline current business processes
• Procurement has been initiated with RFI to be released shortly

How long is this Programme and Digital Project likely to run for?

• Business transformation programme potentially between 4-5 years
• Digital technology solution 12-18 months

What do we anticipate the challenges to be?

• Access to business subject matter experts
• We have a very large,diverse and complex environment

Is there likely to be resistance from any areas of the business?

• Some resistance to change as this does require a new way of working,good listening and persuasion skills coupled with ‘we can do it together’ approach will be very key

What’s the make-up of the digital team?

• PM,Lead Solutions Architect and Senior BA working closing with Business BA,Business Programme and Change lead
• Travel may be required to Prison sites
