ABOUT THE ROLE
This role will be to bring a lean, agile approach to design and development, help us to bring to life Belong’s mission – to make the world a more inclusive place by leveraging quality microservice practices. You will be responsible for the design, development, configuration, customization, implementation and operational maintenance. Your role will be instrumental in defining and developing well-architected API and AWS Connect solutions, ensuring quality and coding best practices. Your backend APIs will help Belong deliver strategic and complex business solutions and AWS Connect solutions will help Belong deliver a great customer as well as agent experience through voice and chat capabilities.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Deliver strategic complex business solutions catered around backend APIs
- Support existing functionality (with a Dev Ops mind set)
- Work closely with a dedicated cross functional team
- Deliver new functionality and support existing function with a DevOps mindset
- Collaborate in agile ways with Products Owners and the wider team to respond to business demand and deliver best practice solutions.
- Work with a wide range of stakeholders, helping them to solve their problems by delivering value quickly.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 3 -5 years of Software development (APIs, Web services, Web applications, apps, etc).
- Experience with AWS Connect solution design and implementation, and continuous improvement/maintenance.
- Experience with RESTful API strategy, development and management.
- Strong knowledge of AWS.
- experience in AWS Connect or IVR solutions
- Understanding of modern web applications and SPAs.
- Familiar with leading technologies enabling DevOps (CI/CD).
- Have broad experience with Java.
- Familiar with managing workloads in Kubernetes.
- Strong knowledge of branching strategies and Git.
- Strong knowledge of using code analysis tools like Checkstyle, PMD, Spotbugs.
- Familiar with SCA tool like dependency checks.
- Familiar with Bash scripting.
- Extensive experience with Microservices concepts like Authentication and Authorization, logging, correlation, observability and tracing.
- Ability to support and monitor APIs / software that is deployed to production.
- Ability to deliver complex technology programs in agile environments.
- Proactive promoter of agile best practices.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
