What To Expect
Disclaimer: This position is expected to start around August 2023 and continue through the entire Fall term (i.e. through December) or into Spring 2024 if available. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time, for most internships. Please consider before submitting an application. International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. Again, please do not apply until you know you can work 40 hours per week.

About The Team
Tesla’s Autopilot and Humanoid robot programs involve a large array of complex hardware and software components interacting with each other as efficiently as possible, under tight compute and energy constraints. We’re looking for exceptional engineers with an understanding of, and ideally experience spanning across software and hardware to work side by side with various cross-functional teams. The Software Integration Engineer will ensure efficient interactions between our Autonomy system in the car or on our Humanoid robot, and other components on the product. This role utilizes hardware, software and system design fundamentals to support product design, vehicle/robot behaviors definition, prototype bring-up and validation, with a software focus primarily.
What You’ll Do
- Define software interfaces and distill actionable feature requirements for Autopilot and our Humanoid Robot.
- Implement software interfaces/ features and monitor fleet data to ensure features perform as per requirements.
- Support validation teams in developing component and system level test plans to meet feature requirements.
- Perform field data analytics to improve design and performance of the system.
- Contribute to technical direction for software design, communication architecture, and service.
- Help various cross-functional teams understand how their systems and related decisions impact Autopilot and our Humanoid Robot.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong C/C++ programming skills.
- Experience working with complex software systems.
- Excellent at hands-on debugging of complex, distributed software systems.
- Comfortable analyzing data to improve design and performance of a system.
- Understanding of hardware and software development processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional capacity for managing simultaneous activities and challenges.
- Experience with Ethernet or CAN communication protocols is preferred.

$20.00 – $50.00 + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
