Participates in stand up/down and records census updates daily into the Homeworks system to ensure admissions, discharges/deaths, transfers, and changes in level of care, changes in team and/or branch are captured for accurate census.
Assists the Team Director by ordering and maintaining appropriate inventory of medical supplies for the field staff. In hospice programs of 200 patients or more a C.N.A. Coordinator may assume this responsibility. Processes DME orders in the Homeworks system and any ancillary systems.
Responsible for IDG preparation and assists the Team Director as requested in preparing for Team Meeting. Maintains close communication with the Medical Director and Community physicians in completing their IPOC/485 documents timely and prior to team by leveraging the use of eNote and Collaborator. Validates timely completion of physician signatures using the Collaborator report daily.
Maintains open medical records by filing all paper documentation in a timely manner.
Monitors the HIM Deficiency and UBR reports for pending revenue. Works with HIM to complete deficiencies in an efficient and timely manner. Preps and scans documents so they can be properly “indexed” (filed) for accessibility and processing.
Processes orders management batches for IPOCs and interim physician orders (PIOs), recertification of prognosis as required by organizational policy/standards.
Completes outside services data entry for physician billing including validation of FTF and GIP notes.
Validates the billable diagnosis in Homeworks for attending and medical director.
Maintains open medical records in designated area according to hospice policy and procedures.
For sites on Document Imaging, preps and scans medical records daily.
Ensures transfer and revocation documents are filed in the medical record.
Relieves Receptionist/Assistant by answering phones, taking messages, greeting visitors.
Performs other duties as assigned including those within the scope of current, valid professional licensure/credentials (i.e. RN, SW, Chaplain, MT, HA, etc.). Qualifications
At least one-year previous clerical experience, preferably in a medical setting or equivalent.
Basic Computer skills required.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of medical terminology.
Demonstrates an ability to work closely with a variety of people while effectively using problem- solving skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
