T&G is New Zealand’s largest producer and packer of hothouse tomatoes. These crops are grown in state-of-the-art environmentally controlled glasshouses, across our 4 North Island sites, and are packaged for both local and export markets 52 weeks of the year.
About the opportunity
We are looking for permanent full time Glasshouse Workers to work at our Tuakau site. This role is Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.00pm, with some extra hours and weekends as and when required, so if you are seeking a full time job we would love to hear from you!
You will be working on our tomato crop in our glasshouses, which includes picking, de-leafing, pruning, clipping and twisting. You don’t need previous experience or skills in horticulture as onsite training is provided. You will certainly stay fit in this role as there is plenty of walking; and also the glasshouse can get pretty warm so you need to be ok with working in a warm environment.
About you
We are looking people with a positive attitude and the willingness to learn new skills. Alongside this; the ability to work in warm to hot temperatures and you will have the ability to do physical work (lifting up to 25kgs) and a lot of walking. You will have a keen eye for detail, work well in a team and be comfortable working on a high trolley from time to time.
