Thayer Power & Communication Hiring for CAD Drafter at Pataskala, OH Full Time

Thayer Power & Communication Line Construction Co., LLC is currently seeking a CAD Drafter to join our growing team. Your specific duties in this role will include:

Position Summary:

At the direction of the project manager, the CAD Drafter will be required to prepare scalable CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) in Civil 3D, plan and profile telecommunication route plans utilizing field survey data, proposed roadway plan files, parcel data and municipality utility plans. Position also requires the ability to perform grade and utility calculations from roadway improvement plans representing telecommunication facility relocations onto scalable plans to avoid impacted areas. Field duties may be required, such as entry into telecommunication manholes, pole surveys and site walks.

Position Requirements:

• Strong technical skills with AutoCAD software and Microsoft Office Word and Excel. Translate electronic documents between various formats (DWG, DXF, DGN, PDF, etc.)
• Associates degree in CAD drafting (Previous work experience can be substituted for education).
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience required.
• Ability to read and perform calculations from road improvement plans. Perform calculations for existing survey data for plan and cross-sectional views.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, multi-task, work under time constraints, attention to detail and demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform field walks with potential to carry up to 40lbs of equipment.
• Must be familiar with County GIS.
