The Arc Central Chesapeake Region supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to live, work, and connect with their community.
The IT Support Technician reports to the Director of IT and will be responsible for ordering, setting up, and administering all business devices to include laptops, iPads, peripherals, conference room equipment, and third-party VoIP phone systems. This position will include in-person interaction with all employees and some of the people we support, requiring travel to all office and program locations in Anne Arundel County and Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The IT Support Technician will coordinate the IT Help Desk and will be the first point of contact with end users.
The ideal candidate will use their strong communication and interpersonal skills to respond quickly and professionally to tickets with a high level of customer service, acting, resetting, and fixing issues in a timely manner. The support technician must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and foster a sense of urgency to do what it takes to get the job done whether it’s with physical devices or with the administration of SaaS applications implemented by third party vendors such as iCM, Paycom, HHAX, and Dayforce. Expert knowledge of Microsoft applications is a must, as well as the ability to advise technology users with varying levels of technical acuity.
This role requires a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of (3) three years’ business systems implementation experience, though a bachelor’s degree in business or technology is strongly preferred and CompTIA A+ may be used in lieu of (2) two years of experience. The wage is $23.75/hour, and the position comes with a competitive benefits package.
