Boeing Commercial Airplanes 777 program is looking for a Senior Manager for Safety, Certification and Performance (SC&P) to join the Airplane Level Integration Team (ALIT) in Everett, WA. As a Senior Manager in the ALIT Integration Office, the manager will be part of the staff of the Chief Project Engineer.
The successful candidate will have engineering program management skills and experience with BCA Airplane Programs, Regulatory Administration, and the FAA. The candidate will have the ability to lead and influence other organizations (programs, functions) and ability to take ambiguous and complex topics and clearly communicate intent, plan and drive outcomes.
This is a unique leadership opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the production system and delivery center.
Manages employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Systems Engineering. Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives. Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers.
This position is located in Everett, Washington and is expected to be 100% onsite.
Position Responsibilities:
ODA TRB voting member for 777
Delegate 777 Chief Applicant for CPE
Ensure product integrity and safety of the 777 fleet and support key SRPs with the FCO
Manage notification of airworthiness standards non-compliances including coordination with E-UMs on notifications and accept non-compliances on behalf the program
Review NPRM, MOCs issue papers and other regulatory material as Boeing applicant
Oversight for 777 regulatory corrective action & process compliance
Coordinate with FAA 777 Program Manager on key program issues
Lead a variety of 777 and post-ATC 777-9 airplane level projects that require cross function integration, such as factory automation, new customer features, and International regulator validation.
Manage customer SOW for customer and Boeing change, and integrate SOW.
Support 777 program in development of PDQs, & PGA’s
Support 777 program in development of customer proposals for changes including MC, MR’s and Rapid Revisions
Manage Program engineering performance to plan through ARRR.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
More than 3 years of experience in a management position.
More than 3 years of experience in project management.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Proven ability to effectively communicate to both executives and engineers at all levels.
Proven ability to manage and empower teams in ambiguous environments.
Experience building organizational talent pipeline in engineering.
Experience in complex integration across multi-functional teams
Experience in safety and risk management processes
Engineering processes knowledge.
Experience with production systems.
Experience with Regulatory Administration and Regulators
