Boeing Commercial Airplanes is looking for a Customer Growth Senior Engineer (Level 4 or Level 5) to join a new group focused on proactively supporting airlines within the Startup & New Customer Initiatives. The home base work location will be Seal Beach, CA. with required travel around the world.
The Senior Engineer must have a deep and expansive knowledge of Customer Support services and deliverables that will make the new customers successful, so that they will purchase new Boeing airplanes within 18 to 24 months of operating used Boeing airplanes.
This position works across Boeing teams to leverage and provide the best and appropriate support to startup and new customers to Boeing. The selected candidate will interface directly with external airline customers to build relationships and trust, so that the airline has the understanding that Boeing will partner with them to support the safe and effective operations of their Boeing airplanes.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to perform work in Seal Beach, CA. with frequent travel around the world, approximately once per month for 1 week at a time.
Position Responsibilities:
Works as a member in partnership with the Field Service team
Provides proactive airline business and operations support
Contributes to the development of customer strategy and support plan
Assists with developing solutions to technical and operational issues
Integrates across Boeing teams to leverage expertise
Provides the Engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers
Works with customers and management to obtain alignment
Responds to changes to SOW, assesses the impact and negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules
Leads project execution to complete the work statement
Plans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program
Defines plans for risk mitigation and opportunity
Works under minimal direction
Work Authorization:
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s Degree or Higher
5+ years of experience with customer support specifically direct face-to-face interactions with customers, (Customer-facing).
5+ years of experience in the aviation industry within sales, marketing or a technical function
5+ years of experience dealing with and solving airline customer technical questions and issues
5+ years of experience in airline or business operations
Experience facilitating meetings and presenting to senior leaders
Knowledge of aircraft and aircraft systems
A basic understanding of structural engineering fundamentals including airframe/component design and materials.
Willingness and capable of travel both domestically and internationally – with short notice and for extended periods, anywhere in the world and for potentially extended periods of time. (Must obtain and possess current passport)
Ability to travel frequently and obtain associated visas
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in a role that required excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
Must be a self-starter with a positive attitude, high ethics and a track record of working successfully under pressure within a time-constrained environment.
Good judgment, extreme discretion and flexibility in work hours.
Typical Education/Experience:
Level 4: Bachelor’s degree and typically 10 or more years’ related work experience, a Master’s degree and typically 8 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level 5: Bachelor’s degree and typically 15 or more years’ related work experience, a Master’s degree and typically 13 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Summary Pay Range Level 4: $103,700 – $140,300
Summary Pay Range Level 5: $125,800 – $170,200
