Education Coordinator – Northwest

Salary: £30,000 – £34,000 per annum DOE + Cambian benefits

Location: Remote, Home Working

Contract type: Full Time (40hrs)

The Group’s services have a specific focus on children who present high severity needs with challenging behaviours and complex care requirements. Cambian looks after 2,100 children and employs over 4,000 people across a portfolio of 224 residential facilities, specialist schools and fostering offices located in England and Wales.

You will have undertaken degree level, or equivalent, in educational or care related studies and will have experience of working within either or both of these sectors. You will be the point of contact and a source of advice and guidance for the residential services, with lead responsibility for helping residential staff understand how to support children looked after to learn and achieve.

The main focus of this role will be to:

· To support the education providers and residential services

· To establish good working relations with placing authorities, local SEND teams and Virtual schools

· Ensure that the feedback/ voice of the child relating to education experiences are captured, analysed and acted on.

· develop and maintain database of suitable local schools, alternate provisions and educational offering within commutable distance of residential homes in the north west/east region.

What are we looking for in you? Previous experience of working with SEND children in a care/education environment would be desirable, but not essential as training will be given. You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in an education or care field. You will be committed to personal learning and development, and have a sincere commitment to sharing our long-term aims and drive for continuous improvement.
