General Clerk I
Job Summary:
The General Clerk I will assist with reduction of all risks associated with fraud, identify theft, and incorrect credit disputes that lead to legal implications if not properly responded to in a timely manner.
Job Duties:
ï‚· Process credit bureau requests utilizing standard processes and procedures that are predetermined.
ï‚· Respond to credit bureau requests using the eOscar tool, or other tools as instructed by leadership.
ï‚· General tasks that involve reviewing images of correspondence received and sorting the images into
other queues for processing within predetermined workflows.
ï‚· Handle borrower calls and support contact center expectations as needed, while following
departmental and corporate policies and procedures.
ï‚· Utilize available systems, knowledge base and standard technology such as email, and web
applications to respond to inquiries and perform job duties.
ï‚· Refer escalated inquiries to appropriate levels as needed.
Education and Requirements:
ï‚· High School diploma or GED required.
ï‚· At least one (1) year of customer service, administrative or call center experience required.
ï‚· Experience with student financial aid programs/debt collection programs preferred.
ï‚· Must be able to use standard technology such as: telephone, email, and web browser.
ï‚· Must be able to type 30 words per minute.
ï‚· Must have high-speed internet (minimum of 20 mbps) to work from home / remotely.
ï‚· Must connect an Ethernet cable directly to the router (cannot connect via Wi-Fi.)
ï‚· Be able to organize and effectively work on simultaneous tasks.
ï‚· Must be able to effectively read a prepared / written script out loud.
ï‚· Must reside in the U.S.
ï‚· Must be a U.S. citizen.
ï‚· Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
ï‚· Must not be delinquent or in default on any federal student loans.
ï‚· Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable security clearance. Final suitability determination is at the sole discretion of the Department of Education.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 – $16.00 per hour
