Compensation: $20.40 – $25.50 per hour (depending on experience) Summary: The Clinical Research Coordinator’s coordinate all activities related to the care of patients participation on clinical research studies. The Clinical Research Coordinator will be responsible for the sound conduct of the clinical trial, including but not limited to recruitment, screening, enrollment, and follow-up of eligible subjects according to protocol requirements. Responsibilities: 1. Will participate and maintain a culture within The Corvallis Clinic consistent with the content outlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards Caregiver Handbook. To this end, employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, and embrace the principles contained within. 2. Sound conduct of the clinical trial, including but not limited to recruitment, screening, enrollment, and follow-up of eligible subjects according to protocol requirements. 3. For each clinical trial; develop a plan to recruit, evaluate eligibility and coordinate the patient care with the study investigator and study team. 4. Meet with potential research patients to explain studies and assist the physician in the consent process. 5. Supervise data entry staff to assure complete and accurate entry of study data. 6. Evaluate adverse events and/or crisis situations. Consult with study doctor to assess toxicities and adverse events. Implement a plan to address the situation. Assess and communicate all aspects of the research patient’s protocol related care with investigator and study team. 7. Determine what educational needs the patient has and provide this education. Advocate for the patient and serve as a resource for them. 8. Evaluate study compliance. Document protocol variations and deviations. Assess cause of variation or deviation and devise a strategy to prevent a repeat occurrence of the event. 9. Supervise study implementation including development of study and patient flow. Prepare for and meet with study monitors/sponsor as required by each study. 10. Evaluate conduct of the study. If recruitment is lagging, implement contingency plan. Education, licensure and experience: 1. Bachelor’s in health-related field preferred OR 6-months of successful healthcare training and/or completion of a healthcare related certification program required 2. Four (4) or more years of clinical research-related experience or two years (2) experience in health care required 3. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Knowledge and skills: 1. Computer literate (MS Access experience a plus). 2. Ability to communicate and work compatibly with physicians, patients, and other staff. 3. Ability to self direct and multi-task.
