About us
The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ carries on the work of legendary Kiwi, the late Professor Fred Hollows, who championed the right of all people to high-quality and affordable eye care. We work in the Pacific where four out of five people that are blind, don’t need to be as their condition is treatable or preventable. We restore sight to the needlessly blind and train local eye health specialists to provide eye care services in their own communities. Fred worked tirelessly to end avoidable blindness and while it didn’t happen in his lifetime, we’re working hard to make it happen in ours. To find out more, visit our website: www.hollows.org.nz
About the role
An exciting opportunity is now available for a highly capable and experienced person to join us in the role of an Executive Assistant to the CEO.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Executive Assistant (EA) provides a valuable and strategic dual role of proactively supporting the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) with executive, administrative and development duties and the Board with reporting, governance matters and administrative duties.
The EA facilitates the coordination and integration of information and planning to enable the effective functioning of the CEO and SLT. The EA also serves as Board Secretary to the FHFNZ Board (including its subsidiary and controlled entities), being the central point of information for reporting requirements and governance matters and supports the Board and Board Committees to operate in accordance with best practice and legislative requirements.
In this multi-faceted, hands-on Executive Assistant role you will be the right-hand person to the CEO. You will provide valuable EA and high-level administrative support and ensure the smooth running of each day in a dynamic ever-changing environment. Your responsibilities will include diary and calendar management, handling confidential matters, managing correspondence, arranging travel accommodations, meeting preparation, coordination of board reports, taking of minutes, as well as internal and external stakeholder management.
You will be comfortable taking ownership of key tasks and projects, bringing a proactive approach, and seeing these through from initiation to completion.
