The role

Develop new, and improve existing systems including the Point of Sale system for The Good Guys, to deliver a seamless experience for customers and the business.

Key Responsibilities:
Work as a cross functional member of a squad, contributing to the full software development lifecycle

Write and contribute to well designed, testable, efficient code

Lead pair programming and peer review exercises as required, which incorporates code review

Produce specifications and design artifacts, and evaluate these against business need

Work with other departments to ensure that the systems delivered are fit for purpose, and suggest improvements based on a strong understanding of the business

Document and maintain software functionality in ‘Confluence’

Actively identify risks and issues, and ensure they are escalated appropriately

Identify best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviewed, source control management, build processes, testing and operations

Providing technology advice, setup, integrations, and automatic Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) strategies to your solutions

Preferred Experience/Qualifications:
Relevant experience and knowledge of professional software engineering systems and life cycle

Experience in development of distributed/scalable systems and high-volume transaction applications

Proficiency in troubleshooting software issues and debugging a large codebase

Experience in Architecting, designing, developing and maintaining integration solutions for Enterprise systems using Microsoft Azure Cloud Services. Experience in developing/supporting .NET Core and .NET Framework/C# as well as solid skills in SQL – advantageous

Experience in Git and management of other repositories including GitHub and Bitbucket – advantageous

Experience in Azure Cloud Services (PaaS & IaaS), APIM, Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Cosmos DB, Storage, Active Directory, Application Insights, Azure Monitoring, Key Vault – advantageous
