Job summary

The primary function of the Strategic Sourcing Manager position is to Manage Relationships with Key Vendors, along with developing new sources in his or her facility/commodity areas. This person will work closely with Facility Managers, Operations Directors, Sales and Business Development to translate the needs of The Gund Company with those key suppliers. In addition, this role will provide key input to the Global Supply Chain Manager to create and execute key supplier strategies.

Summary of essential job functions:

Develop and maintain key vendor relationships

• Research, qualify, negotiate and communicate supplier options for TGC as well as the relative value of each

• Coordinate and organize quarterly or biannual business reviews

• Assemble and communicate vendor performance

• Provide input into and negotiate key vendor contracts as applicable

  Communicate and coordinate vendor information with key internal stakeholders

• Ensure vendor/contact data is updated in iCRM

• Document vendor communication in iCRM

• Communicate important vendor communications with key internal stakeholders

• Communicate internal stakeholder needs with key vendors

• Provide final vendor price lists to Purchasing Specialist/Sourcing Engineer to update prices in Visual

  Assist with Supplier Strategy Development

• Understand competitive landscape in assigned facility/commodities

• Identify barriers to strategic business goals and proactively put counter-measures and process improvement initiatives in place to enable business growth

• Provide input into the enterprise supplier strategies for applicable commodity areas

? Owner of Strategic Sourcing Sub-processes

• Own and execute the Supplier Qualification, Supplier Negotiation, Supplier Integration and Supplier Performance Measurement sub-processes found within the Strategic Sourcing Process

• Develop a program to research, investigate, and qualify new suppliers

• Verify that TGC pays market leading prices for all key materials

  Other Duties:

• Monitor the market via attendance at trade shows to determine opportunities to expand TGC-s product line

• Serve as backup and learn duties for Purchasing Coordinator position

  Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor-s degree required, graduate degree or post-graduate level coursework desired

• A minimum of ten years of business experience, preferably in industrial/engineering materials applications

• A minimum of five years of purchasing leadership experience in industrial/engineering materials applications

• One or more purchasing-related certifications are desired
