The Third Party Administrator (TPA) Quality Specialist is responsible for quality audits of The Hartford’s insured claims handled by The Hartford’s TPA Partners. The TPA Quality Specialist evaluates TPA claim files including, but not limited to, coverage, investigations, reserving, compliance, payment accuracy and file outcomes, and identifies areas of opportunities in the TPA claim handling. The TPA Quality Specialist is also responsible for TPA Audit Action Plan oversight and execution, when applicable, to drive continuous claim handling improvement. In addition, the TPA Quality Specialist is responsible for support of department objectives and strategies related to the mitigation of risk associated with unbundled claim handling, and delivery of customer value.
The TPA Quality Specialist facilitates audits of The Hartford’s TPA Partners’ handling of claims arising under Workers’ Compensation, Auto, General Liability (GL) and/or Property coverages. This responsibility requires coordination with contracted TPA partners handling The Hartford’s insured claims. In addition, the TPA Quality Specialist works closely with TPA Consultants, TPA Claim Account Executives and the TPA Services Data & Operations Team to address issues identified as a result of the audit process.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience is required
5+ years of P&C claim handling/quality control/claim leadership experience is required; knowledge of TPA business and processes preferred
Workers’ Compensation expertise is preferred; candidates with Auto/GL/Property experience may be considered
Strong technical and multi-jurisdictional knowledge of P&C claims including Workers’ Compensation, Auto, GL and/or Property and their respective claim processes
Experience accurately evaluating files from a holistic perspective and skilled in the art of calibration
Effective project management with the ability to manage and execute multiple projects and priorities
Solid verbal and written communication skills
Strong software (e.g., Excel) systems including the ability to manipulate data
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret trends, draw conclusions, and effectively make recommendations
Self-motivated with a strong desire for excellence and able to work in virtual environment
Strong team mentality and demonstrated experience successfully participating in team based objectives
Builds strong relationships as a result of a consistent customer service approach
Demonstrates sound business judgment and decision making skills
Travel 10% or less

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$82,080 – $123,120
