The James Hutton Institute Hiring for Communications Officer at Dundee DD Full Time

The work undertaken by The James Hutton Institute is right at the top of the global agenda tackling problems such as the impact of climate change and threats to food and water security.

The Communications Teams delivers across the remits of media, marketing, digital, events, public affairs, corporate and internal communications, all designed to support and promote the work of the James Hutton Institute.

Critical to successful delivery of this work is ensuring that staff have the information they need to effectively carry out their jobs, and that means excellent internal communications.

This post is focused on developing and enhancing the organisation’s internal communications. This involves digital tools such as the staff intranet, mailers, emails and apps; and also the physical spaces across which the Hutton operates in Invergowrie and Aberdeen in addition to a few smaller sites. There is an expectation that new forms of internal communications will be explored to ensure there is constant improvement in this area.

Previous experience is essential and can involve either a suitable qualification combined with practical experience or longer-term practical experience.

This post can be based at either Invergowrie, Dundee or Craigiebuckler, Aberdeen and it will be expected that at least one day a week is spent at each site which can be combined with hybrid (home) working available if desired.
