Truck Wash Facility Manager Job Description

Ottumwa, IA

Directly supervise wash bay workers in a service-oriented truck wash. Duties may include management functions, such as but not limited to: purchasing, inventory control, scheduling, in addition to supervisory duties. This position will be responsible for maintaining a consistent level of wash services and customer satisfaction. Responsible, reliable, and dependable work habits mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by greeting and assisting customers, and responding to customer inquiries and complaints.
• Assign employees to specific duties and create employee schedules.
• Enforce safety, health and security rules.
• Monitor employee performance to ensure that customers receive quality services.
• Monitor invoices and receipts for inconsistencies.
• Perform work activities of subordinates, such as washing and drying trucks.
• Assist Audit personnel with tracking wash bay inventory through product counts in an effort to reduce waste and theft.

Working Conditions:

• Outdoor working environment
• Must be available nights and weekends
• Must be able to bend, pull and lift 50 lbs consistently throughout the course of a work day
• Must be able to climb ladders
• Must be able to stand for an extended period of time

Experience & Skills:

• Previous management experience.
• Management of Personal Resources – Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
• Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
• Service Orientation – Actively looking for ways to help people.
• Monitoring – Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.

Education:

• REQUIRED – High School diploma or equivalent required.
• PREFERRED – Bachelor’s degree and or prior military preferred.
• PREFERRED – Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 – $22.00 per hour
