The Salvation Army Laura Danieli Senior Activity Center is looking to fill a Driver/Kitchen Helper position. The successful candidate for this position will be able to communicate effectively, maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, multitask and work effectively in a team environment. The Driver/Kitchen Helper will perform the duties of home delivered meal driver, delivering meals in a timely manner, providing recipients with envelopes for making confidential donations and logging and turning in all monies collected. This person will conduct safety inspections of vehicles on a daily basis and maintain the cleanliness of meal delivery carriers. This position will assist staff in other divisions when requested including maintaining kitchen cleanliness and helping with the implementation of Thanksgiving and Christmas events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a Valid Arizona Driver’s License and be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Food Handlers Permit
• Successful Background Check and Fingerprint Clearance Card Required
• Must pass online Salvation Army Drivers Safety Course
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external contacts
• Must be able to multi-task and work effectively in a team environment
• Demonstrate a willingness to be flexible while maintaining efficiency

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the employee to be physically active and may require the employee to stand for up to 2 hours or more at a time; must be able to walk, run, and reach and grasp with hands and arms. Ability to operate a keyboard is essential. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

This position requires the employee to work under stressful conditions, be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects in an organized and efficient manner to meet the tight deadlines, respond to crisis situations in a calm and effective manner, interact with others with courtesy and tact, complete projects on schedule, and maintain confidentiality.
