Service NSW is at the cutting edge of technology and is expanding our digital teams to manage the demands of delivering innovative services to the millions of NSW residents. We need a range of skill levels to enhance our existing teams, including people with extensive experience through to emerging talent with strong foundation skills and huge potential.

At Service NSW we use XP practices (including TDD, pair programming and CI/CD) to design and build fast, stable software and release it to our customers quickly. We are committed to iterative delivery using the build, measure, learn paradigm and we pride ourselves on being responsive to customers’ needs.

Our teams collaborate to design and implement the right solutions, applying lean problem-solving to deliver value within a complex ecosystem. We work with Java (Spring), JavaScript (React.js, Angular.js, Node.js), AWS Cloud, Cloud Foundry and Apigee to deliver end-to-end platforms.

About you

• 
  Expertise: Previous experience in software development and an understanding of the SDLC.
• 
  Collaboration: You encourage diversity of thought and do your best work in a paired/team environment, embracing the concepts of iteration and incremental improvements.
• 
  Proficient in one or more modern programming language: JavaScript/TypeScript, Java Swift, or Kotlin will give you a head start, but your enthusiasm to upskill and cross-skill is what will get you across the line.
• 
  Customer-oriented and proud: You are motivated by, and take ownership of, delivering valuable outcomes to the people who use your software.
• 
  Attention to detail: Your ability to identify inconsistencies and errors is critical.
• 
  Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills: Your exceptional verbal and written skills, together with practical problem solving will see you excel in this role.

We are recruiting across multiple levels:

Engineer – Grade 7/8 – Base salary range between $92,788 – $109,396 plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and leave loading. Click Here to view the role description
