Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity to stamp your mark, being responsible for promoting and celebrating our teaching and research to future students and other key audiences and stakeholders, in line with the faculty’s strategic vision.
You will be responsible for the development and implementation of faculty comms, marketing and recruitment plans through promotions, event management and internal and external communications.
This role has managerial responsibility and includes allocation of work and accountability for outputs and quality as well as performance reviews and development of team members.

Remuneration: $105,000 + dependent on the experience and skills you bring with you.

Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the team
This role oversees a team of two Content Writers, a Marketing Adviser, and a Graphic Designer and collaborates closely with external advertising and creative agencies. The team also includes an Events Coordinator and Media Advisor that are faculty-embedded roles from our central university support teams.
Our Content Writers and Coordinators are responsible for providing engaging, dynamic, and authentic multimedia, print and digital content that effectively showcases the faculty’s teaching, research, departmental offerings, and activities to multiple audiences. They produce a wide range of publications for the faculty and manage the faculty’s social media and web pages.
Our Marketing Adviser is responsible for supporting marketing and recruitment objectives and building the reputation of the faculty through the design, development, and implementation of integrated campaigns. They also provide marketing advice and support to the faculty’s schools and departments. Other responsibilities include social media management, campaign reporting, and financial administration.
Our Graphic Designer contributes to the development and delivery of powerful and engaging digital & print design to support a consistent University and faculty brand through creative design solutions, with high visual impact.
He kōrero mōu | About you
This is a diverse role where you will thrive in a collaborative environment working alongside a multitude off stakeholders. You will be the driving force behind the Communications and Marketing team tasked with effectively building and promoting the profile of Medical and Health Sciences. Promoting an array of research to a wide range of communities across Aotearoa will be a key part of this role as well as attracting students into our broad range of programmes. This involves the execution of integrated marketing campaigns, the development of engaging content and delivery oversight of faculty events across all channels. Key to doing this effectively will be your ability to think strategically, deliver outcomes on time, in accordance with budget and most importantly, to build enduring relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Resilience and flexibility are imperative for success and your experience with managing a team as well as working across a large and complex organisation will be invaluable. This role would suit someone who is curious and resourceful with a well-developed understanding of brand management and a passion for storytelling.
