We have an exciting opportunity for an Event and Operations Manager (Conferences and Events) to join our Event Services Team at the University of Auckland. This role plays a pivotal role in ensuring our conferencing and events portfolio run smoothly and is responsible for managing a team who deliver events and conferences on campus and across New Zealand to a consistently high standard, enhancing the profile of our customers and the reputation of the university.
Reporting to the Event Services Manager, you will lead a team of dedicated, innovative, and proactive Event and Conference Planners, ensuring they understand deliverables and are empowered to succeed. Your exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously will be instrumental in delivering results.
This role is expected to help drive a culture of continuous improvement and to support business effectiveness by contributing to projects or initiatives that align with Event Services strategy.

About you | He kōrero mōu
Our ideal candidate will have 10+ years’ experience in delivering conferencing and similar business events, and 3+ years’ managerial experience. University experience and/or working within a large complex organisation would be advantageous.
You will be able to oversee multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining your sense of humour and professional approach.
This role will suit someone who is passionate about team development, a confident and resilient leader, who takes a proactive approach and thrives in a busy environment. An understanding of tikanga and kawa for events would be advantageous.
