We are looking for a full time HR Advisor/ Kaitohutohu Pūmanawa Tangata to join us. We are currently working in a hybrid model with the option of mixing it up spending time on campus and at home. In this role, you get the best of both worlds, supporting your portfolio and being part of a highly experienced and well-respected central HR Advisory / Ranga Pūmanawa Tangata team.

Job Description

Working day-to-day with an HR Manager/ Poutaki Pūmanawa Tangata and drawing support from a diverse team, you will partner with passionate leaders and provide HR generalist support for a diverse portfolio of academic and professional functions. Key to your success will be your ability to work effectively on a wide range of tasks at any given time, provide high-level quality coaching and advice, with solid relationship-building and influencing skills. This role looks after key areas of our business The faculty of Education & Social work, Liggins Institue and Research.

As an HR Generalist, you will have the opportunity to utilise the full spectrum of your HR knowledge on any given day, from coaching managers on change processes to performance management, remuneration, administering university HR processes, and employment relations. This role will give you access to opportunities, experiences, and projects that only a large and complex organisation can provide!

Qualifications

As an established and experienced HR generalist, you will ideally have:

• Experience partnering with leaders and building trusted relationships
• Experience working in complex environments and on a wide range of tasks concurrently
• A proactive approach, with the ability to see the bigger picture yet also connect the dots and manage the detail
• A mindset that embraces collaboration, sharing, fun and willingness to get stuck in
• A solid HR administration skillset
• A relevant HR qualification or related degree
• A commitment and alignment to a diverse and inclusive culture for both staff and students and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
