Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
The SHIVERS (Southern Hemisphere Influenza and Vaccine Effectiveness Research and Surveillance) programme aims to improve the understanding of transmission of influenza and other respiratory viruses and how to prevent their spread. The latest iteration, SHIVERS-V, is a research programme to investigate respiratory viral transmission and behaviour in Aotearoa/New Zealand once the international borders re-open. This programme is a collaboration between the University of Auckland, Environmental Science and Research (ESR), the Immunisation Advisory Centre at UniServices and Counties Manukau District Health Board.
We are looking for a full-time enthusiastic post-doctoral Research Fellow with an interest in the prevention and control of respiratory diseases to join us on this programme. Applicants with skills and experience in public health and translational research would be welcome as would expertise in quantitative or qualitative research methodologies and machine learning. There will be an opportunity for the successful applicant to develop their own research project, apply for new funding and supervise Masters and PhD students.
This fully funded fulltime, 12 month fixed term position could be based in either Wellington, Dunedin or Auckland.
Remuneration: $86,979 negotiable on experience and qualifications
