Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

To facilitate the ongoing development and implementation of Indigenous knowledge, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, te reo, tikanga, and mātauranga Māori within the Speech Science curriculum.

To provide high quality, evidence-based teaching, supervision, and research. This position will conduct rigorous research in Speech Science, secure external funding (as appropriate), supervise students, and teach courses in Speech Science and in their specialisation at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and support the School to continually obtain accreditation for the MSLTPrac programme.

Remuneration: SL3 Circa $118,103 pro rata dependent on experience and qualifications.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• PhD in speech-language therapy or equivalent
• Registered member of the NZSTA
• Experience with undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching with a record of teaching evaluation, reflection, and improvement
• Demonstrated research excellence as evidenced by a publication record appropriate to the appointment level sought
• Demonstrated commitment to equity for Māori in teaching, research and service
• Over three years practice as a speech-language therapist
