We’re looking for two Academic English tutors who could work across our full range of programmes.
You’d be joining a good Centre – we’re internally proud of how we’ve more than ‘got through’ the constant unpredictability of 2020-21, and externally it seems like we’re doing the right thing with the British Council (still) rating us as having more areas of strength than any other University Centre.
In that context, your ability to do the role as described should be a given and (obviously) the more qualifications and experience you have, the more the chance to shine in the application process. If that ability comes with significant energy and knowledge on the learning technology side, we’d be thrilled – but it’s ultimately not the be-all and end-all of what we’re looking for.
But the reality is that you’d also be joining a group of people who are continuously and actively questioning the ‘what’, ‘how’, ‘where’ and ultimately ‘why’ of everything we do. We’d probably also say Covid has only increased these questions without necessarily increasing our answers… but it is at least making us think of the possibilities – no bad thing.
Ultimately we really need to know that whoever joins us will add to the ‘well, we can..’ conversations, not the ‘we can’t…’ In other words, work with us to identify the teaching challenge and help us solve, develop, guide summer colleagues and teach what we come up with.
If the above sounds like you, we look forward to your application.
As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of age, sex, gender (or gender identity), ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status. All appointments are made on merit.
