Job Description

We now have a pretty unique role up for grabs which will see you play a key part in improving the store design and customer environment through planning and detailing retail layouts for 4 of our brands – The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, Noel Leeming and Torpedo7.

Reporting to the Chapter Lead – Store Development and Design, you will be responsible for defining and designing store layouts for both existing and new stores throughout NZ. The projects will vary from smaller tweaks/roll outs to existing stores, supporting specific category works and project planning (for example our Grocery roll out in various stores) to laying out brand new stores while adopting new and exciting customer journey theories as defined by the wider Retail Design and Insight teams.

Your Role:

• Defining and producing CAD/Revit design concepts and solutions
• Improving the customer environment & experience via store design
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders & 3rd parties to bring together design briefs and technical drawings
• Planning & designing new retail layouts based on merchandise requirements & ideal customer journeys
• Creating layouts and applying store rationale principles to optimise the store environment
• Designing customer centric fixtures to maximise space, product profitability & customer engagement

Qualifications

To really succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have previous technical design experience, preferably in retail. With no two store layouts the same, you will love getting the detail right! You will be self-motivated, highly organised and have the ability to use creative thinking with a commercial mind-set.

Our wish list also includes:

• Retail design experience using REVIT / CAD operator experience with a thorough understanding of documentation standards
• Understanding of NZ building fitout compliance, ideally in a retail context
• Ability to work with internal stakeholders and 3rd parties to bring together design briefs and technical drawings
• Ability to use a balance of customer, strategic, product and commercial elements into a coherent design
