The Psychometrics Team supports College Board in serving more than seven
million students a year as they prepare for a successful transition to
college through programs and services in college readiness and college
success. College Board’s Psychometrics provides its partners with
measurement solutions that set the standard for quality, efficiency and
innovation through operational excellence and research leadership that
advances the field of Psychometrics and supports College Board’s
mission of access and equity in Education.
About the Opportunity
You will be joining a dynamic multidisciplinary team to support the
development of College Board’s state-of-the art psychometric analysis
systems and contribute to the design and development of new analytic
tools. You will play an important role in designing and implementing
modern technology solutions for psychometric analyses and work in a
collaborative Agile environment with psychometricians, research
statisticians, quality analysts, and a team of software engineers.
Besides contributing to systems development efforts, you will also
support routine statistical analysis projects for College Board
Assessment Programs (Advanced Placement Suite, ACCUPLACER, CLEP, and SAT
Suite of Assessments).
In this role, you will:
Systems Development

– Contribute to visualizing analysis results of assessment data.
Statistical Analysis
{=html}
– Work with large databases and various web-based data storage
options.
– Develop more efficient procedures in the fulfillment of these
analyses that may include developing stored procedures/programs
and/or database solutions.
Operational Psychometrics

– Conduct quality assurance and quality control procedures as
requested to ensure the quality and accuracy of results.
– Contribute to technical reports for internal and external clients
About You
You have:

– Demonstrated proficiency with modern computer programming (Python,
Julia, R or similar)
– Demonstrated proficiency with Cloud computing and web-based tools
(Athena)
– Demonstrated proficiency with Python libraries to support scientific
computing, data processing and visualization (SciPy, NumPy, Pandas,
Matplotlib)
– Experience with GitHub or other version control tools
– Experience with cloud storage services (e.g., AWS S3)

– Experience with data science tools (e.g., Shiny, Tableau or similar)
– Experience with developing SAS macros
– Good understanding of relational databases
– Demonstrated proficiency in designing and conducting statistical
analyses and understanding complex algorithms.
– Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

– Ability to work with large assessment data
– Ability to work in a collaborative environment that e phasizes
quality, rigor, adaptability, and critical thinking
– Good organizational and time management skills
– Good oral and written communication skills including technical
presentation, public speaking, interpersonal, and writing and
editing skills.
