About The Role

As a Software Developer at Thiess, you will be part of the team responsible for the maintenance, enhancement and support of the software deployed by the Digital & Technology team by performing effective analysis, design, development and testing to meet the requirements of the business and the users of the systems.

Additionally, the role will:
Lead the design and implementation of applications and systems through engaging with technical and business SMEs to understand requirements, and architect appropriate solutions.

Develop new software and maintain and modify existing software

Produce detailed specifications for software development, and produce and maintain process documentation

Perform quality control and reviews on software changes and conduct unit testing of software

Utilise standard Source Code control mechanisms

About You

You will have completed relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or have the appropriate Technical Background and have 2+ years in software development roles, particularly within environments that encompass cloud-based and mobile technologies.

You will have experience and demonstrated achievements in architecting software and designing technical solutions. You will be familiar with a structured/controlled development environment using a tracking tool (Azure DevOps Boards, JIRA, etc) and be proficient with writing and maintaining technical documentation via a shared portal (Azure DevOps Wiki, Markdown, Confluence, etc).

You will also have extensive experience in common development technologies such as:

Common Microsoft programming technologies: C#, ASP.NET / .NET Core / MVC / WebAPI, Visual Studio, SQL Server, Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps / TFS, etc

Modern Web front-ends: HTML, CSS (Boostrap, preprocessors: LESS, Saas, etc), Javascript frameworks (Vue.js, Angular, React), Typescript, etc

Mobile development technologies: Ionic, Xamarin/.NET MAUI, iOS/Andrioid Native, PWAs, App Store familiarity, etc
