POSITION TITLE: Plant ControllerREPORTS TO: Vice President of Finance GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: The Plant Controller manages all financial control and accounting activities of the Swedesboro, New Jersey facility. This includes inventory control, spend analysis, material & labor variance analysis, forecasting, KPI (key performance indicators) management and reporting, fixed asset management, and evaluating/tracking cost savings opportunities.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Provide financial acumen and develop into a business partner to the plant leadership team (COO, VP of Production, Warehouse Director)
• Provides proactive / unsolicited consultation, interpretation, and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions
• Establish and maintain plant and processing facility accounting procedures
• Deliver analytical reports to the management team at TFI for the facility
• Provide financial input and understanding on cost saving projects
• Become the lead in understanding profitability by business unit while also considering 3PL to ensure we stay up to date with market pricing
• Establish budgets and projections for the warehouse and processing business units
• Provide financial input on capital investments that relate to the plant; performing ROI and investment payback analysis
• Maintain all fixed asset tracking and reporting including fixed asset roll forward and ensuring our depreciation methods are properly instituted in accordance with GAAP
• Partner with the plant leadership team on KPI management and reporting
• Working closely with the Warehouse Director, providing governance and audit capabilities with our inventory on site, including to lead our year end physical audit of the Swedesboro facility with external auditors
• Provide COGS analysis from establishing standards to variance reporting (production, DL, MUV, PPV)
• Participate as a key member of the TFI USA Management Team
• Drive continuous process improvement, delivering opportunities for efficiencies and cost savings
• Any other duties within scope and ability as assigned by the Vice President of Finance

JOB REQUIRMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or other related fields; or equivalent work experience
• 10+ years in relevant manufacturing experience (as part of plant controllership / cost accounting functions)
• Ability to work across organizational boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve plant or corporate objectives
• Ability to respond effectively to the sensitive inquiries from the business
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to interface with all levels of the organization
• Strong leadership skills and ability to mentor and develop staff
• Ability to build relationships with colleagues and partners
• Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of detail and accuracy
• A high degree of organization and ability to ensure deadlines are met by department
• Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the organization
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Change management experience and knowledge
• Ability to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance by staff
• Understand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedure set forth by Thomas Foods International USA
