The Organisation
The Timaru District Council aims to enable democratic local decision-making and action by, and on behalf of communities, to promote the social, economic, environmental, and cultural well-being of its communities in the present and for the future. With around 400 staff, there are a diverse range of roles from front facing community to support and technical specialists.
The Role/Person
Our Customer Services team are looking for an enthusiastic individual to be the vital front-line link between members of our community and Council’s variety of services!
If you’re a people person, who loves helping others, you already have an advantage. The way you mix quality service with professional and insightful help, plus your excellent cash handling and computer skills, will be what makes you a superstar Customer Services Officer.

With your great work ethic, upbeat personality and excellent problem solving skills – you will be able to effectively and efficiently provide our customers with amazing service.
This is a fixed-term full-time position offering 40 hours per week. Although this role is fixed-term, it is your foot in the door to working at TDC and the other opportunities we have to offer.
Hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. The salary range is between $44,292 to $52,108 per annum. This role is fixed term until the 2 December 2022 covering a parental leave absence.
