CA PRN Pharmacist Job Description

Education Experience: B.S. in Pharmacy required, PharmD. preferred

Certification: Licensure: Current CA Registered Pharmacist License

Clerical Experience: Must be able to input prescription labels and working knowledge of computer equipment.

Position Summary:
Consult with patients and medical personnel regarding medication therapy. Provides direction to
Pharmacist Interns, Pharmacy Technicians, and non- licensed personnel. Dispenses, procures, stores, and distributes pharmacy products. This position will make themselves available to cover California based locations to cover sick leave, vacation as well as emergency leave situations. The right candidate must be comfortable travelling and must have reliable transportation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• B.S. in Pharmacy required, Pharm. D. preferred
• Current California registered Pharmacist license
• Knowledge of Federal and State laws/regulations regarding the provisions of pharmaceutical services.
• Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to extract pertinent information from the patient or other resources and relate it to the patient’s medical management plan.
• Ability to learn and operate pharmacy computer system and other equipment.
• Must be able to input prescription labels
• Must be able to pass background check and drug screening

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Working knowledge of Retail Pharmacist duties
• Consults with patients and medical personnel regarding medical therapy
• Provides direction to Pharmacy Interns, Pharmacy Technicians, and other non-licensed personnel
• Provides coverage to all (4) Northern California based locations, this would include covering vacation(s), leaves of absence, sick and emergency leaves

Pay: $65.00 – $74.00 per hour
