TISTA Science and Technology Hiring for Technical Security Director at Rockville, Maryland Full Time

Overview

TISTA, an innovative federal contractor in the Washington DC metro area, is looking for a Technical Security Director to join our growing company. This is an excellent opportunity to build a high-performing team, lead the implementation of CMMC, ensure a high level of information security, and mentor and guide information security professionals providing delivery services to the federal government. The ideal candidate has demonstrated success in the above areas for a government contractor of similar or larger size, initiative, excellent communication and presentation skills, and takes responsibility for ensuring success.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of the CIO and in close cooperation with Corporate Security, IT, and business stakeholders

• Plan and manage security initiatives, define requirements, and design/develop/verify solutions

• Represent OCIO in meetings with customers, stakeholders, and employees

• Provides guidance and oversight to corporate staff (50%) and project delivery teams (50%)

• Implements, oversees, and audits cybersecurity identification, protection, detection, response, and recovery processes and systems

• Reviews and contributes to information security aspects of white papers, presentations, and proposals

• Continuously and measurably improves information security

• Write corporate standards, policies, procedures and guidance in accordance with national and international security standards

• Lead/perform compliance audits of corporate teams and vendors

• Provide oversight and leadership for customer projects

• Assess and coach employees and groups

• Lead/support non-OCIO corporate initiatives

• Lead and participate in corporate philanthropic initiatives

Qualifications

• 5 years of professional experience in a position of comparable scope and complexity

• 20 years of professional IT experience, including 10 years of IT leadership and 10 years of hands-on infrastructure experience

• 10 years of professional information security leadership experience

• CISSP

• CISM preferred

• 5 years of professional experience implementing ISO 27001 and NIST 800-171

• 5 years of professional experience implementing ISO 20000-1 and ITIL

• CMMC Expertise

• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to obtain a government-issued security clearance

• Ability to travel locally (20%) and to our remote locations periodically

• Bachelor of Science (master’s degree preferred) in cybersecurity or computer science
