What you’ll do

It’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key responsibilities of the role:

• This position is responsible for leveraging data to garner strategic insights, guide planning and buying activities and drive business results. Demonstrate the ability to think like an entrepreneur by continuously searching for new business opportunities, seeking to understand the customer and his/her buying preferences and exhibiting strong commitment and motivation to deliver results.

• Deliver on financial targets; pursue high Fashion, Quality, Brand, and Price quotient deals that drive profitable sales and have the greatest impact on the business.
• Accurately analyze data; identify market trends and re-forecast business plans accordingly.
• Consistently maintain an open to buy that reflects balance through immediate purchases, future and liquidity.
• Identify and continuously adjust merchandising strategy to respond to a changing market.
• Leverage broad-based market knowledge (i.e. vendor, competitor, customer, department, etc.) to quickly and accurately identify merchandise value; negotiate and be selective with deals.
• Identify and concentrate on priorities that will have the greatest impact on the business.
• Create a vision, design the strategy for that vision and execute the strategy.

What you’ll need

To begin your career with us, you’ll have:

• Multiple years in off-price buying or 5 plus years external buying experience
• University Degree or equivalent experience.

• Demonstrate effective negotiation skills and actively control the negotiation process that results in mutually beneficial outcomes and build the vendor relationship.

• Show passion in selecting merchandise and manage the various aspects of his/her business.
• Maintain a global awareness and understand customer diversity; create strategies that reflect the nuances of buying for various geographic cultures.
