The Service and Software Support Engineer is responsible for the Installation, Diagnosis, Rectification and General Support of all Software Solutions. The position will require a strong element of Customer Support and Project Management and will offer outstanding opportunities for personal development and team growth.

Job Responsibilities:

• Actively support the ophthalmic sales team through coordinated demonstrations, equipment tenders and on-site customer meetings
  

• Maintain effective customer and distributor relationships for ongoing acceptance of our products and services
  

• Promote the sale and support of Topcon service contracts
  

• Attend conferences and shows as required
  

• Maintain our software solutions including but not limited to Harmony PACS DICOM systems and Imagenet capture platforms
  

• Research / investigate / test Device export options, then create Harmony Device Modules accordingly.
  

• Maintain continuity with customers as a source of information, problem solver, and educator.
  

• Maintain detailed high-quality up-to-date account profiles in Topcon CRM (ongoing).
  

• Perform special projects or duties for individual enrichment, self-growth, and/or company benefit.
  

• Perform other duties as assigned.
  

Skills & Experience:

• Excellent problem-solving skills
  

• Previous experience in a customer facing and field service role desirable
  

• Able to travel locally, interstate and overseas, sometimes at short notice
  

• Demonstrated ability to be self-driven and work autonomously is imperative for this position
  

• Experience with DICOM and PACS Imaging standards would be desirable
  

• Strong computer, networking and software skills are a must
  

• Sound knowledge of Java and HTML languages
  

• Basic knowledge of SQL
  

• The ability to work flexibly with competing priorities and deadlines and maintain strong internal relationships to support business activities
  

• Excellent communication with exceptional English writing and speaking skills
  

• Knowledge and Experience working in the Ophthalmic Device and Software sector would be highly beneficial
  

• Past service experience with EMR, PACS and or Capital Equipment is preferred.
  

• Formal qualifications in electronics or a software related field
  

• A degree in IT, electronics or a software related field is preferred or equivalent experience
