Description
Under general supervision, performs a variety of clerical, secretarial and general office assistance duties in a department or Town government. Is responsible for application of departmental policies, procedures, rules and regulations to moderately complex and repetitive work. Reports to a division supervisor or department head.
FIRE
- Composes forms, letters, memorandums, reports, develops information newsletters, bulletins, social media postings, pamphlets, and brochures. and other materials for public education.
- Maintains contact with field personnel regarding office activities and deadlines.
- Summarizes information for reports; selects data from varied sources for fire inspection reporting and fire inspection invoicing.
- Provides information for residents, business and occupants on fire and life safety initiatives.
- This position works closely with the department supervisors and involves a high degree of public contact requiring strong verbal and written communication skills. Reports to a division supervisor or department head.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs other related work as required.
Minimum Requirements (Must meet by the closing date of the posting unless otherwise stated)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:

Graduation from High School.

One (1) year of experience in secretarial and clerical work, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
PREFERRED:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Special Requirements
Must have the ability to accurately type a minimum of 40 wpm.

$35,911 – $53,088Annually
Employees Hired on or After 10/1/2013:
$16.7735 – $25.5227/Hourly
$34,889 – $53,087/Annually
