Summer Camp Coordinator
Position Overview
The Ingersoll Community Services Department seeks to employ a fun, energetic, outgoing and dedicated
staff member who will be responsible for the development and delivery of Summer Camp. Duties include
planning, implementation and evaluation of Day Camp programs, providing incidental guidance to Day
Camp counsellors, attending regular meetings and attending summer camp and ongoing training workshops.
This staff member will develop an 8 week camp program and support Counsellors in the development of
daily program schedules. The Day Camp Coordinator will be responsible for the development and facilitation
of the Day Camp staff training. To be deemed eligible you must be:
between 16 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment*;
a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration
and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and,
have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance
with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
Start Date(s) & Hours per Week
40 Hours Weekly (Monday to Friday). May 16 to August 26, 2022
Required Certifications, Licenses, Training, etc.
Current Level C Standard First Aid & CPR Certification.
High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development Certification.
2 years experience in day camp
Complete the in-house training
Qualifications
Demonstrated aptitude and passion for delivering an exceptional and engaging camp experience.
Previous childminding experience is required with preference given to those who possess day camp
experience and/or experience delivering youth-targeted recreational programming.
Ability to demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities, strong customer service, organizational,
communication, and problem-solving skills.
Must possess the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently in an
outdoor and aquatic environment.
