TREC: Transport Rebuild East Coast Looking for Human Resources Business Partner at Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand Full Time

Transport Rebuild East Coast (TREC) are the alliance dedicated to the recovery and reconstruction efforts across the highway and rail networks in Te Tairāwhiti (Gisborne) and Te Matau a Māui (Hawke’s Bay), in conjunction with local businesses and contractors. Our alliance comprises of the esteemed organisations; Waka Kotahi, KiwiRail, Downer, Fulton Hogan, and Higgins.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic HR Business Partner to join the team.

In this role, you will work closely with the HR Manager to:

• Provide expert advice to managers, aiding in the implementation and integration of TREC’s human resource procedures concerning performance leadership, management, and talent.
• Coach managers in delivering impactful feedback, fostering employee development effectively.
• Proactively engage with key stakeholders, both locally and regionally on the East Coast, cultivating robust relationships and offering professional HR counsel as needed.

While the position is primarily based in Christchurch, occasional travel to Auckland and the East Coast will be required.

What we’re looking for:

• A relevant HR qualification.
• 3-5 years’ experience in providing HR Business Partner support to managers (ideally within the Construction industry).
• A commitment to fostering collaboration, connectivity, and standardised work practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously with a knack for building effective relationships across all levels.
• Comfort working in a complex environment, handling ambiguity and liaising with diverse stakeholders.
