Job Description:
The Benefits Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day analysis, communication, and administration of TreeHouse benefit programs, with a focus on retirement plans. In the pursuit of quality benefits administration, you will work with internal employees, HR partners, Payroll, Finance, external benefit vendors, and other related parties. The role is a key contributor in the Total Rewards function and reports to the Manager, Retirement Benefits.
Responsibilities
Administers and analyzes eligibility and data on the retirement benefit plans.
Manages and tracks benefit vendor invoicing, building/enhancing clear process documents as well as developing holistic metrics to support overall vendor management.
Collaborates in the collective management of the benefits email inbox. Identifies trends that indicate training needs or communication opportunities.
Develops and manages regular audits of 401(k) elections and related payroll deductions.
Assists with review of pension and Other Post-Employment Benefits (OPEB) data, supporting our third-party pension administrator where needed.
Collaborates in the management of compliance requirements, including but not limited to 5500 reporting, non-discrimination testing, and SPD review.
Enhances communications to employees and management via internal mechanisms and leverages third party providers to increase member understanding and improve utilization.
Supports the integration of M&A activity, including plan comparisons.
Supports union negotiations with metrics and analysis as needed, and coordinates implementation of any changes.
Identifies, implements, and administers new reporting to support business needs.
Reviews benchmark studies and other research; provide value-added analyses and summaries.
Supports implementation of new systems, programs, and processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS), preferably in Human Resources or Business Administration.
Minimum 3 years of experience administering health benefits and/or retirement programs for larger multi-state, multi-group organization.
Strong analytic, quantitative, advance computer skills, especially with MS Excel.
Detail oriented
Excellent communication skills required
Self-starter with a high level of persistence and strong results focus
Excellent strategic planning skills, creative problem-solving capability, and project management skills.
Ability to work well under pressure, adapting to changing priorities in a fast paced, rapidly transforming and results-oriented environment.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion and good judgement.
